Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel Mechanic / Technician PACOIMA, CA! The Diesel Mechanic/Technician will be responsible for the timely repair and maintenance of Diesel Class 8 Truck repairs and maintenance. *Yard Goats *Electric Switchers *zero - Over the road diesel / tractors
Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $28.00 hr - $32.00 hr DOE
Seeking a Diesel Technician with DOT inspection experience and Cummins engine knowledge to service Yard Goats, Jockeys, and Switchers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting yard switchers, performing brake repairs, and conducting basic electrical diagnostics. Must be comfortable creating repair orders and working independently.
Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 1:30 pm

Responsibilities
What the Diesel Technician role looks like:
Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to medium to heavy duty vehicles
Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation
Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicles
Interact with clients through both email or phone as necessary
Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
What our ideal candidate looks like:
At least 3+ years’ experience performing diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
Commercial Driver’s License class “A” or “B “ preferred not required
Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
Knowledge of hand-held scan tools and the process of diagnosing vehicles.
Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
