DOT Mechanic

Job Description

Job Desc/Summary: Responsible for performing testing, repairing and maintenance on trailers to ensure safe and productive operations.

Perform inspections to ensure DOT requirements are met and take corrective measures when required

Perform testing and preventive maintenance on trailers

Perform repairs on steering systems, hydraulic systems, brake systems, transmissions, electrical systems and engines

Diagnose mechanical problems

Read and interpret work orders, communicate with drivers on repairs and discuss preventive measures

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred. DOT Mechanic and/or Diesel Mechanic certifications with CDL preferred. Several years of industry knowledge and experience performing maintenance, testing and diagnostics on trailers.
