Title: Validation Test Engineer

Location: La Grange, IL - 100% Onsite

Duration and hire type: Contract

Overview: Sterling Engineering/Staffing is currently looking for a Validation Engineer for one of our clients in the La Grange, IL area. Sterling has a rich history of delivering top talent to our clients. We are a nationwide Staffing Firm with over 100 clients and works primarily with Fortune 1000 corporations.

Hourly Rate: $40-52/hr

Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to contribute to the development and validation of world-class rail products and services vital to our customers’ needs through the application of specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities. Work involves independent judgment, decision making, and creativity. Management is available to provide additional guidance for unusual situations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Application of project management

Work with product design engineers to develop and implement V&V test plans

Develop and present Verification and Validation (V&V) plan and test plans to program management

Create and manage verification schedules for individual orders and research and development projects

Integrate schedules multiple projects and prioritize activities between multiple projects

Review engineering test orders/instructions for completeness and incomprehensibility

Document observations and issues of test locomotives

Assist product design engineers with root cause analysis of verification and validation activity failures

Assist in development of test data collection and analysis system and integrate into the Closed Loop Corrective Action System (CLCA) process

Track/Analyze field and test data for contractual compliance

Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic environment

Clearly communicate test and technical information to test facilities

50% travel

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering

Experience with tests and validation planning and execution

Knowledge and expertise in standard Microsoft applications

High degree of organizational and communication skills

Providing reports on product performance

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience with requirement management tools (e.g. Polarion)

High level of analytical ability with complex problems

Statistical training and demonstrated application

Locomotive/Railroad knowledge
