We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Virtual Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing oversight on day-to-day activities, handling staff and client escalations, and ensuring staffing and resources are properly deployed for each engagement. It also ensures month-end closes are done accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements for clients (including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).

Analyze financial data to identify trends, assess performance, and provide insights to clients.

Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and other financial projections.

Assist clients with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls.Accounting Operations:

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

Oversee the processing of journal entries and ensure accurate and timely financial data entry.

Reconcile bank accounts and investigate any discrepancies.

Manage cash flow and ensure timely payments to vendors and collection of receivables.Tax Compliance:

Assist with the preparation and review of tax returns (income tax, sales tax, payroll tax, etc.).

Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.

Advise clients on tax planning strategies.Client Communication & Relationship Management:

Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing their questions and concerns.

Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Proactively identify and address client needs.Team Management:

Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.

Assign and review work, provide feedback, and ensure deadlines are met.

Develop and implement training programs for team members.Technology & Systems:

Implement and maintain accounting software and other relevant technology.

Ensure data security and integrity.

Stay current on industry best practices and new technologies.Business Development:

Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Assist with the preparation of proposals and presentations.What we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related years of experience.

CAS technology certified or completed within one year of hire.

5+ years of experience working in public or private accounting

3+ years of managing associates is required. The perks!
