POSITION: FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer

Position Summary:

The Controller is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and works closely with other members of the senior management team.

Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows

Develop and maintain a comprehensive annual budget of the company, while supervising budget enforcement, analyze the difference between the actual and budget.

Set up the company's internal control system to ensure operation of relevant processes and procedures, in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Manage the company's cash flow

Analyze the company's financial performance and make recommendations for improvement

Work with external auditors to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Managing tax filings and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process, addressing audit findings, and implementing necessary changes.

Interpret financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making.

Lead the accounting team, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient operations within the accounting department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

CPA certification

7+ years of experience in a controller or senior accounting role

Proven financial analysis skills, good organization and coordination skills, expression skills and team spirit;

Strong career dedication, strong ability to work under pressure and sense of responsibility.

Experience in inventory management systems and accounting, including raw materials to finished product products

Experience in retail and wholesale sales, including accounting for and calculation of provision for deductions, returns and retail incentive programs

Experience in accounting system design and migration is a plus.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in accounting software
