We are currently searching for an experienced Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Relocation assistance available if needed.
What you’ll be doing:
Assisting in the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructures
These projects may include bridges, roads, tunnels, water, and sewage systems
Different roadway design components include typical sections, geometric layouts, drainage analysis, maintenance of traffic plans
Assignments will also involve tasks associated with producing a set of construction documents including drafting, computations, specifications, and cost estimate
Mentor junior engineers
Perform detailed engineering calculations & analysis, and utilizes design software to solve complex issues
Responsible for project schedules and client communications
What you need to have:
BS or MS in Civil from and ABET accredited program
PE Required
8 – 10 years’ experience
PS&E experience is
Self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environment
Has knowledge of local municipalities, funding sources, public infrastructure, and traffic
Able to maintain project schedules, which may require occasional extended hours and overnight travel
Effective verbal and written communication skills
General interpersonal skills including active listening, teamwork, responsibility, dependability, leadership, motivation, flexibility, and patience
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
Valid driver’s license.
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
