Controller

Job Description

Our Controller is primarily responsible for adherence to the company’s accounting procedures, oversight of internal controls, production of accurate financial statements, effective cash management, and audit compliance. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and enjoys administrative assistant support for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll management. Specific responsibilities include:

Managing close process, including reconciliations, revenue recognition, and expense allocations

Confirming accuracy of work-in-progess schedule for construction projects

Updating weekly financial scorecard for leadership team’s review

Reviewing and approving weekly payroll data

Arranging credit facility draws & paydowns and delivering borrowing base certificates to bank lender

Submitting monthly sales & use tax reports to the state comptroller’s office

Preparing annual budgets and cash flow forecasts / tracking actual vs. estimated performance

Essential Qualifications

Proven, successful work experience as a controller or accounting manager

Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting

Expertise in Quickbooks Enterprise and spreadsheets

Exceptional level of attention to detail and trustworthiness

Desired Qualifications

7-10+ years of accounting and/or finance experience with multi-divisional companies

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field

CPA or CMA certificationCompany Description
