Mystic Valley YMCAControllerPosition Summary

The Mystic Valley YMCA is seeking a committed, experienced Controller responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring sound financial practices, internal controls, and effective financial reporting processes to ensure the continued financial integrity and long-term viability of our Association.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Minimum of eight years of direct accounting experience required; fund accounting and nonprofit experience strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial and accounting reporting systems, cost control principles, and federal and state financial regulations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, financial and analytical abilities, organizational and problem-solving skills, and strong computer proficiency.

Demonstrated experience supervising accounting teams and working collaboratively across departments.Essential Functions

Design, implement, and monitor effective financial practices, internal controls, and financial reporting systems to support the financial health and mission of the Association.

Lead accounting operations including financial reporting, general accounting, fixed assets management, and oversight of financial systems.

Hire, train, supervise, and manage accounting personnel, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Accounting Clerk functions.

Produce accurate, timely internal financial statements and reports in accordance with internal policies and GAAP.

Lead external financial reporting, including to the Board of Directors, lenders, grantors, and regulatory bodies (e.g., annual audit, IRS Form 990, UFR, and YUSA annual reports).

Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team and program directors to develop, monitor, and forecast the annual budget.

Partner with the Development Department to ensure proper recording, allocation, and reporting of contributions, including grant funding.

Support the CEO and leadership staff in developing, maintaining, and evaluating business systems and processes across the Association.

Develop and maintain effective internal controls and efficient financial practices, including financial reporting, budgeting, finance, and treasury functions.

Serve as a financial resource and counselor to staff at all levels, developing and delivering training related to financial management, internal controls, budgeting, and analysis.Cause-Driven Leadership Competencies
