LCS Financial Services Corporation is looking to hire an experienced Financial Controller that has a strong accounting and finance background. The Controller is responsible for the accounting and finance requirements for several closely held companies. The successful candidate will be a creative problem solver skilled in accounting, strategic planning, financial modeling, fundraising, identifying opportunities for savings and efficiencies and proficient in continuous process improvement. The candidate will be an operationally focused professional with experience in growing businesses and financial transactions.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:
Primary financial contact with investors, banks, auditors, clients, attorneys, lenders, and regulatory agencies
Responsible for all financing aspects of the Company, including procuring loans, lines of credit, portfolio acquisition financing facilities, fundraising strategies and managing banking relationships
Managing the accounting department on a day-to-day basis; responsible for leadership and direction with direct supervisory responsibility of the accounting team
Responsible for accurate and timely monthly financial statements and related financial reporting for each company
Consolidating the companies’ financial statements when necessary
Ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and journal entries
Overseeing cash management including weekly review, projection and planning of cash inflows and outflows
Developing and guiding the annual budgeting process; analyzing and reporting on monthly variance to budget reports
Identifying and implementing efficiencies through cost savings
Reviewing and approving monthly account and bank reconciliations and income statement variance reports
Primary liaison with the companies’ outside accounting firm including responsibility for obtaining timely annual reviewed financial statements
Overseeing and coordinating all business insurance coverages
Implementing and enforcing internal control procedures
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years accounting and finance experience
BS or BA in Accounting, Finance or equivalent from an accredited university or college
Ability to work on multiple projects at once and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
Natural leader capable of planning and building a highly cohesive and productive accounting team
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and oral/written communication skills
Advanced understanding of GAAP concepts and principles with ability to research authoritative standards to support initial positions taken on the financial statements. Coordinating with the President and audit firm to bring approved positions into practice.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Excel based data analysis
Preferences:
CPA or equivalent
MBA
M&A experience
Experience with private equity, structured finance, or bank and specialty lending
Significant experience with Oracle NetSuite
Strong technology proficiency including familiarity with artificial intelligence
