Founded in 1988, Pyramid Labs is a Drug Product CDMO specializing in injectable drug product development and manufacturing. Our capabilities include Clinical and Commercial Vial & Syringe Fill/Finish; Clinical and Commercial Lyophilization; Liquid Drug Product Formulation & Process Development; Lyophilized Drug Product Formulation & Cycle Development; PPQ and PV for late-stage Drug Products; Labeling & Packaging; Quality Control Laboratory Services- In-process, Lot Release & Stability; Analytical Method Development & Validation; and API & Drug Product Stability Studies

Pyramid Labs is positioned for growth and the Controller position will report to and partner closely with the CFO. This position will lead the accounting team at Pyramid Labs and is responsible for the maintenance of general ledgers and the preliminary preparation of financial statements by managing monthly/quarterly/yearly close process.

THE PRINCIPAL DUTIES OF THE CONTROLLER ARE:

Oversee the preparation and finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with industry standards.

Implement and oversee financial systems, processes, and controls to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity of financial data.

Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process, ensuring all financial records are ready for review and audits are completed in a timely manner.

Manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff to ensure a high level of performance and professional development.

Represent the company in financial negotiations with external parties, such as vendors or financial institutions, to secure favorable terms and conditions for the organization.

Approve all transactional accounting according to the approval matrix.

Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes related to headcount and comp, meeting with departments for headcount planning and oversee and/or process monthly payroll and accruals.

Work closely with outside CPAs on tax reporting.

Oversee all aspects of accounting and reporting for multiple entities.

Facilitate the integration of financial reporting systems following mergers or acquisitions, ensuring a smooth transition and consistency in financial practices.

Oversee payroll process. Support HR during the bi-weekly payroll process.

Manage the annual insurance renewal process with our insurance broker.

THE JOB REQUIREMENTS:ARE:

Demonstrated experience in building and/or leading an accounting function at scale is required.

Must maintain strict confidentiality.

Strong leadership skills, both direct and indirect. Ability to work well cross-functionally and influence across the organization.

Adjust easily to change, learns quickly, and understands how internal and external factors impact decisions.

Public company experience a plus.

Experience in growth stage company required.

CPA and bachelor’s degree in accounting required, MBA Finance a plus.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fluid, fast-paced environment.

Experience operating in a Private Equity environment preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Previous experience in supervisory role.

Ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail.

15+ years of accounting experience required.

Knowledge of NetSuite a plus.

Knowledge of ADP WFN a plus.

Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry.
