Job Description

A group of small businesses located in Carlisle, OH is seeking a degreed accountant with 10+ years of experience is preferred. The primary business is a distribution company. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the books, through financial statements, for multiple small businesses. Secondary duties include all HR functions. This is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves type of position and we are looking for an experienced accountant that can work independently.

Skills Required/Highlights of the Position/Requirements:

Must have a complete and thorough knowledge of GAAP.

QuickBooks and Sage 100 experience is preferred.

Onboard new employees

Accurately and timely prepare bi-weekly payrolls.

Maintain employee personnel files.

Maintain multiple bank accounts, including deposits, disbursements and reconciliations.

Process accounts payable and maintain appropriate AP records.

Prepare and remit appropriate sales tax returns.

Assure sales transactions processed through the point-of-sale system are accurately recorded in the ledger.

Perform month end closings for all companies in a timely fashion.

Perform fiscal year end closings and coordinate tax returns with our external CPA.

Forecast tax liabilities for owner.

Process year end 1099 forms and file with the appropriate federal and state agencies.

Interface with owner and other personnel to accurately post accounting entries to the GL.

Must have strong spreadsheet skills.
