Job Title: Business Analyst – IT Project Management
Department: IT Project Management
Reports To: IT Project Manager
Location: USOSM Practice Support Center
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:
The Business Analyst (BA) within the IT Project Management Department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful implementation of IT solutions across USOSM’s Practice Support Center and affiliated surgical practices. The BA will collaborate closely with project managers, business owners, IT teams, external vendors, and clinical staff to gather and analyze business requirements, design solutions, and support project execution from planning through post-implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with project managers to support the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects
Act as a liaison between Practices, Technical Teams, and third-party vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables
Conduct in-depth business analysis to gather, validate, and document requirements
Translate complex business needs into user stories, process flows, mock-ups, wireframes, and functional specifications
Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders to define current and future state workflows
Develop and present mock-ups, solution designs, and process diagrams to stakeholders for review and feedback
Work closely with departmental leads and vendors to ensure accurate implementation of business requirements
Support application testing (UAT), training documentation, and end-user onboarding
Assist in change management and post-implementation support to ensure solution adoption
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend scalable solutions
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in IT Project Management environments, preferably within healthcare or practice management settings.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), including Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or similar for workflows and diagrams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR), Practice Management (PM), or other healthcare-related systems.
Familiarity with Project Management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or Microsoft Project.
Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA) or Project Management (PMP, CAPM) is a plus.
