Description

Job Purpose: Support the controller by overseeing accounting-related activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and preparing financial statements. They manage journal entries, assist with budgets and forecasts, and contribute to internal controls.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting plus 5 years’ experience with a manufacturing company.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP), SOX and J-SOX compliance internal controls, and financial reporting. Knowledge, development/administration of policies on finance, financial statements, cash management, accounting, tax, payroll, cash disbursements, computer systems, internal controls, budgets, audits

Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools. Knowledge of PLEX (UX) and Paycom preferred. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop recommendations. Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate financial information. Ability to identify and resolve accounting issues. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:

Assist in the preparation, analysis and presentation of the financial statements.

Assisting in developing and managing budgets, as well as forecasting future financial trends.

Performing account reconciliations and analysis

Ensuring adherence to accounting standards (GAAP), tax regulations, and internal policies

maintaining internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Assist in the preparation of the monthly forecast.

Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

Assisting with internal and external audits, including preparing for audits and resolving audit findings.

Assist in preparing schedules and support for federal, state, and local filings to ensure compliance.

Other duties as assigned

Level of Authority: This position will be responsible for handling highly confidential information regarding company finances and employee information.

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting, conducting telephone conversations, use of electronic mail, writing letters and memos, face-to-face discussions with individuals or teams (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise).
