Job Summary
The Lead Operator for Anschutz Exploration Corp (AEC) is responsible for mentoring company and/or contract staff in the normal day-to-day operations of company wells. This position is responsible for actively teaching, communicating with, and helping to develop a team of Lease Operators. The focus is on striving to achieve top EHS performance while maximizing operational efficiencies and asset potential. Works with the Production Foreman to supervise and monitor specific field operations (Production, Measurement, Fluid Movement, SCADA, Artificial Lift) and optimization efforts. Works under the direction of the Production Foreman and with engineering, field and SH&E staff.
The successful candidate will have a strong personal commitment to safety and the environment. Have a strong technical working knowledge of compression, gas lift, GAPL and other artificial lift systems. The ability to effectively communicate with management and engineering staff. Capable of effectively training Operators and ensuring accountability for their duties. Must be a team player that can work with other disciplines (completions, construction, drilling).

Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize and correct production related problems in daily reports
Oversee the field surveillance of oil and gas production operations
Key objective is to safely maximize profitability by increasing revenue and/or lowering operating expense
Reports to the Field Production Foreman
Major Responsibilities:
SHER champion
Participate in and present during monthly safety meetings
Ensure daily production data is correct
Mentor and train lease operators to perform daily duties safely and efficiently
Review SOP’s and suggest updates as needed
Communicate and work as a team with other groups (drilling, completions, construction, engineering, etc.) in our organization
Work with engineering group to optimize production and reduce down time
Under the direction of the Production Forman, plan and supervise day to day field operations (hot oiling, flowline maintenance, swabbing, wireline, and roustabout work, etc.)
Assist with air quality inspections and repairs
Participate in periodic well review meetings with foreman, techs, and production engineer
Diagnose artificial lift issues and optimize existing systems
Ensure company provided vehicle is well maintained and clean
Perform light maintenance on equipment
Ensure that contractors are working in a safe manner and following safety and environmental protocols
Attend PSSR’s
Commissioning new facility startups
Assist with flow back oversight
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Capabilities
Proven ability to lead out in SHER
5+ years of related industry experience with majority of time based in the field
Fluency in written and spoken use of the English language is required
Current and up to date software capability using office and collaborative applications is required
Excellent written and spoken communication skills are required
Ability to work alone under own initiative, or in close collaboration with immediate leadership and production/facility engineering team is required
Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot operational issues
Position will require significant time in the field in all weather conditions
Position may require working occasional night shifts
