Data Science Program Lead

This organization is currently seeking a Data Science Program Lead, who will be responsible for driving the execution of key data science and analytics initiatives that align with the organization's strategic goals. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to convert complex data insights into actionable business strategies and communicate those findings effectively to senior leadership. You will play a key role in managing project timelines, optimizing workflows, and ensuring that analytics projects are delivered efficiently and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of data science and analytics projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and deadlines.

• Work closely with marketing, product, IT, and other business units to define project requirements, manage stakeholder expectations, and communicate insights clearly.

• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to transform data insights into actionable strategies that contribute to significant sales growth or cost reductions.

• Monitor and measure project success according to key performance indicators, provide recommendations for process improvement, and track resource utilization.

• Effectively present data-driven strategies to senior leadership, simplifying complex concepts to influence business decisions.

• Develop and implement best practices for data project management and automation to increase scalability and efficiency across analytics initiatives.

• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with corporate objectives.

• Track key project metrics, assess potential risks, and implement course corrections as necessary.

• Manage resources effectively, balancing priorities and ensuring optimal use of team capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

• At least 7 years of experience in program or project management within analytics or data science, ideally in the insurance or financial services industry.

• Expertise in analytics tools such as SQL, Python, R, Power BI, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

• Strong understanding of how data science and analytics inform business decisions, particularly in areas like customer segmentation, risk assessment, and pricing in life insurance.

• Proficiency with project management software like Jira, Asana, or Microsoft Project.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Experience:

• Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.

• PMP or data governance certifications.

• Experience working in the insurance or financial services industry.

• Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
