The Telecommunications Support Program provides comprehensive IT and telecommunications services to the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory (NVFEL). The Program aims to support the laboratory's mission of conducting emissions testing and ensuring compliance with federal emissions and fuel economy standards. The Program covers various services, including desktop management, data center management, enterprise connectivity, IT security, business support, and application services.
Duties:
Collecting, processing, and analyzing large sets of data
Strong analytical skills, experience with data management tools
Gather data from various sources, including databases, CRM systems, and external sources
Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present data in an easy-to-understand format
Provide recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic planning and operational improvements
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data pipelines and storage solutions
Implement AI-driven data cleansing and anomaly detection techniques to ensure high-quality datasets
Automate data ingestion and preprocessing tasks using AI-based tools and scripts
Apply machine learning models for pattern recognition, forecasting, and clustering to enhance analytical outcomes
Utilize AI-powered data cataloging and metadata management tools to streamline data discovery and organization
Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in data analysis or a related role.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, or similar.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with large datasets and derive meaningful insights
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data in a simple way
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Knowledge of relational database systems like Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, etc.
Knowledge of database management and query languages (e.g., SQL)
Working experience in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, GCP, etc., is a plus
Familiarity with machine learning techniques and AI-based data processing tools is a plus
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus
Experience working with AI-assisted ETL workflows or intelligent data validation frameworks is a plus
Required Education and Certification(s):
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience/combined education.
