Job Summary:

Help a Semi-Retired Entrepreneur with various business and home related tasks. (7-15 hours per week)

Who we are:

I am a Semi-Retired (Mid-50’s) Entrepreneur and Medical Doctor based in Northern San Diego County. Regular tasks vary but often revolve around light management of my existing businesses, managing my home, and seeking out new business opportunities.

Responsibilities and Objectives

General

Keep track of correspondence (sms, email, phone, in person meetings)

Track and manage personal schedule

Track and manage progress on tasks

Keep organized records on deferred projects

Keep track of regular shopping, errand, and maintenance needs

Write and speak in an error-free, business-appropriate manner when required

Running Errands

Run the errands as instructed

Run the errands efficiently

Gain necessary clarity re: particulars

Actively anticipate and problem-solve issues with task completion

Take charge on most errand-related decisions that come up

Exercise best judgment when the situation calls for it

Research

Perform due diligence on given topic

Summarize findings succinctly

Present them in an easy-to-digest and actionable manner

Maintain an organized archive of research that can be easily accessed when needed.

Light Home and Office Upkeep

Perform various moderate physical tasks (lift and move boxes, other objects)

Ensure office and household staples are replenished (coffee, pens, chargers, cords, etc.)

Occasional household chores (eg. Dishes, set auto lawn watering schedule, etc.)

Find and hire experts/contractors ( eg. Handyman, bookkeeper, accountant, etc.)

Monitor/Oversee work done by home and office contractors

Expected Outcomes:

Clear and timely communication

Satisfactory completion of major projects

Consistently solves problems with minimal guidance

Established trust that candidate can handle minor issues and tasks consistently

Established trust that candidate can represent me in a professional and respectful manner

Respectful and appropriate professional relationship between me, my family, and the candidate.

Required Competencies:

Bachelor's degree

Moderate aptitude with MS-Excel

High degree of organization

Proficiency at problem solving

Professional writing and communication style

Ideal Candidate Qualities

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Working and reliable vehicle

Lives within reasonable distance (20-30 min) from UTC/ Solana Beach

Eager to learn new things

Flexible and adaptable thinking

Critical thinker

Exercises good judgment

Good with children

The ideal candidate will provide top-level assistance for a high level executive. They should be well-organized and be comfortable scheduling meetings, responding to emails, drafting documents and helping the executive with any necessary meeting preparations.
