Our Challenge:
We are seeking a highly skilled Java Architect with extensive experience in the banking domain to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of banking systems, architecture principles, and Java technologies. This role involves designing and implementing scalable and efficient software solutions that meet the needs of our banking clients.
Additional Information:
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX is $125K-135K /year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:
Architectural Design: Lead the architectural design of complex banking applications and ensure alignment with business objectives and technology standards.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring best practices and coding standards are followed.
Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications and architecture designs.
Technology Evaluation: Assess and recommend new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of banking applications.
Integration Solutions: Design and implement integration solutions between various banking systems, third-party services, and APIs.
Performance Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks and implement improvements to ensure high availability and scalability of applications.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, processes, and standards.
Compliance & Security: Ensure all solutions comply with banking regulations and security standards, including data protection and privacy laws.
Project Management: Participate in project planning and estimation, providing input on timelines and resource allocation.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master s degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 12+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a Java Architect role.
Strong experience in the banking and financial services sector, with a deep understanding of banking processes and systems.
Technical Skills:
Expert in Java and related technologies (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
Proficient with Apache Kafka, including its architecture, ecosystem, and best practices for implementing event-driven solutions.
Proficient in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, etc.) and data modeling.
Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Proven leadership skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
Preferred, but not required:
Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to banking (e.g., Basel III, GDPR).
Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks).
