Job Title: Network Engineer - Fortinet/Aruba

Location: Vancouver, Washington

Job Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 annually

Work Arrangement: Hybrid - 1 day a week onsite following training

MUST reside currently local - C2C & third-party vendors NOT accepted at this time

Position Overview:

Ledgent Technology's client is seeking a qualified Network Engineer to join their team in Vancouver, Washington. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and supporting network infrastructure. You'll collaborate with peers, end-users, and vendors to deliver network solutions that are both efficient and secure. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, outstanding communication, and a customer-first approach.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Infrastructure Management: Develop, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance.

Collaboration: Work closely with the Engineering Manager to design and execute network solutions aligned with business objectives.

Project Leadership: Lead network-related initiatives from conception through deployment, ensuring timely and effective implementation.

Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.

Problem Resolution: Act as an escalation point for complex network issues, diagnosing and resolving problems efficiently.

Support & Guidance: Provide guidance and support to internal teams (including the Service Desk) both remotely and in person.

Process Improvement: Develop and refine processes to improve network performance, security, and operational efficiency.

Professional Representation: Maintain professionalism and integrity in interactions with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless networking.

Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to resolving network issues.

Ability to create and maintain technical documents, including network diagrams and troubleshooting guides.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Proven ability to provide exceptional support to end-users and internal teams with a customer-first approach.

Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

Desired Experience:

3+ years of experience in network engineering, system administration, or a related IT infrastructure role.

Hands-on experience with enterprise networking environments, including LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, VLANs, and wireless networks.

Familiarity with network monitoring systems like PRTG or SolarWinds.

Experience with Fortinet systems (e.g., FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer) is a plus.

Experience with ITSM ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management.

Industry certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4/5, CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred but not required.

Educational Requirements:

Preferred: BS Degree in Networking, Computer Science, or Information Technology. Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of a degree.
