The HR Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic HR initiatives and objectives as it pertains to planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Oversee the Human Resource Department and its team members in daily operations
Ensure all new HR Department team members are trained on all aspects of their positions
Develop, review, and implement new and revised policies and procedures
Work with HR Department and Operations Department to create, execute, and automate employee training and onboarding
Collaborate with Safety Committee and Workers’ Compensation carriers to reduce work-related injuries, develop and maintain transitional duty programs, and meet other WC-related goals
Work with legal counsel as directed by the Executive Team, including the enforcement of non-competition agreements, EEOC claims, and other related legal matters
Research, develop, and propose new or renewed health insurance policies and other employee benefits
Partner with HR Assistant Manager to ensure internal employee onboarding audits are completed
Research existing and changing workplace trends and propose changes as necessary
Partner with HR Assistant Manager to ensure completion of Unemployment Compensation claims, Workers’ Compensation claims, and employee evaluations
Ensure HR Department maintains new and existing health insurance policies for internal and external staff
Ensure proper progressive discipline, termination, and resignation processes are followed for internal staff
Complete all research, tasks, and special projects as directed by the Executive Team
Investigate complaints that are elevated to the HR Director in an accurate and professional manner
Conduct employee mediations that are elevated to the HR Director
Maintain awareness and proactive communication regarding team member productivity and performance
Maintain compliance with state, federal and Joint Commission regulations
Maintain professional working relationships and interactions with all departments and offices
Maintain confidentiality standards daily
Work in an office environment on a full-time basis unless otherwise specified by the Executive Team
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Relevant Human Resource certification preferred, i.e., SHRM-CP, PHR, etc.
Prior experience in professional work environment
Customer service and conflict resolution skills
General knowledge and capability to operate office equipment
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Attend all Manager and Assistant Manager meetings, both on-site and off-site when notified in writing by DNA of required attendance
Meet or exceed all essential functions of the job, including but not limited to, work performance goals
Physical Demands:
Ability to remain in a stationary position for the duration of the workday
Ability to move about the office, bend, and reach
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
Work Environment:
Generally, works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting if specified by the Executive Team.
