Simulation/ Emulation Engineer

An Emulation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing emulation platforms used in the verification and validation of programmable logic controllers’ software. They work closely with controls engineers to ensure that the emulation platform accurately models the behavior of the hardware, enabling thorough testing and debugging of PLC software designs prior to installation of the systems.

Responsibilities:

Build emulation models using imported SolidWorks drawing data and release/support those models.

Develop and maintain standard libraries complete with physics and interface tags and bills of materials.

Build and run simulation models for pre-sales and after sales projects.

Develop emulation tools such as debugger and monitor features.

Work closely with controls and software development teams to emulate projects and test PLC/Robotic software.

Develop emulation and verification strategy in conjunction with controls engineers.

Develop test framework and test cases.

Produce documents such as verification specification and reports pertaining to simulation models.

Will assist in estimating control system costs during both the project quoting and implementation phases.

Able to prioritize several concurrent projects to meet schedule milestones.

Be a great team player who works well with our customers, company management and the project team.

Participate in daily and periodic agile meetings.

Coach less experienced colleagues.

Qualifications:

Three or more years of experience designing and implementing conveyor / automated material handling system or machine tool control systems using Emulate 3D Software for simulation and controls testing.

The ability to quickly concept cost effective solutions to a customer’s requirements is paramount.

Excellent communication and comprehension skills are imperative.

Must be well organized and have a keen sense of urgency.

BSEE Preferred
