Director of Accounting

We are looking for a Director of Finance to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the corporate accounting function, overseeing financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and month-end closing processes.

Provide technical accounting guidance, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards, and staying up-to-date with the latest industry changes.

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute financial strategies, driving business growth and operational efficiency.

Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with internal and external requirements.

Supervise a team of accounting professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development.

Manage internal controls and SOX compliance, ensuring all accounting practices are up to standard.

Act as a liaison between external auditors and the company, ensuring a smooth and effective audit process.

Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting department and lead initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA required

7+ years of experience in accounting

In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and technical accounting.

Proven experience in financial statement preparation, budget forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop teams effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and external stakeholders.
