SUMMARY
The Senior Account Manager plays a critical role in delivering best-in-class support to both internal and external customers by aligning with established company policies and service standards. This position is responsible for managing key customer relationships.
As a strategic point of contact for high-value clients, the Senior Account Manager drives customer satisfaction, program success, and revenue growth. The role involves close collaboration with cross- functional teams—Marketing, Operations, and Product—to execute sales strategies and ensure the seamless delivery of complex, multi-faceted programs.
This is a highly visible, client-facing role suited for a dynamic, organized professional who thrives in fast- paced environments and brings strong program management and relationship-building skills to the table. The Senior Account Manager will be a core part of the Inside Sales Department and reports directly to the Inside Sales Department Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Handles key customer accounts and high-impact programs as the primary point of contact, ensuring
alignment between customer expectations and internal execution.
· Leads cross-functional coordination across departments - including Sales, Production, Quality, Finance, Shipping - to drive project milestones, meet delivery timelines, and manage priorities across concurrent programs.
· Manages full program life cycle including RFQ intake, proposal development, order entry, order execution, and post-delivery support with a strong focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
· Performs detailed contract review of Purchase Orders to ensure compliance with customer-specific Terms & Conditions, Quality Clauses, and technical specifications.
· Manages the progression of projects/orders to ensure all deadlines and requirements are met, escalating risks as needed to meet customer expectations.
· Handles special customer projects and recommends product(s) that best meet the demands and technical requirements of each program.
· Reviews customer engineering drawings and technical data, collaborating with Engineering, Production, and Quality to assess feasibility and propose alternative solutions when necessary.
· Oversees coordination for special shipping or delivery requirements to meet customer-specific logistics needs.
· Implements program controls by regularly tracking open order status, generating customer reports, and monitoring KPIs to proactively manage risk and maintain transparency.
· Supports strategic negotiations for high-value RFQs and long-term agreements in collaboration with Outside Sales and Executive leadership.
· Assists the Finance Department with account receivables and invoicing requirements on delinquent
accounts; liaises with Customer Service Representatives for resolution.
· Provides mentorship and leadership to Customer Service Representatives and Inside Sales team members, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and customer-first thinking.
· Resolves customer and internal challenges by applying established policies, procedures, and strategic problem-solving methods.
· Champions continuous improvement initiatives based on customer feedback, industry trends, and internal performance metrics to drive customer loyalty and program success.
· Works with Outside Sales Manager on special projects and or negotiates high dollar RFQs that require special attention / requirements.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
5+ years relevant industry related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Requirement: Knowledge of product lines, suppliers / manufacturers, supply chain operations
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Experience with Oracle. Must have strong working experience with Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Must have the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations utilizing fractions and computer spreadsheet formulas.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
