Lead Software Engineer

We're Hiring: Lead Software Engineer / Architect (Fintech SaaS Cloud Backend)

Location: Chicago Downtown (4 days onsite)

Are you a technology leader with a passion for architecture, emerging technologies, and building highly scalable systems? We’re working with one of our fast-growing fintech clients to find a Senior Software Architect who can help define and drive the technical vision for their cloud-based Security-Based Lending (SBL) SaaS platform.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role with the opportunity to influence the technical roadmap and collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams.

What You’ll Do:

Architect, design, and guide the development of scalable and secure software solutions

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

Participate in high-level design and code reviews

Drive innovation and excellence across the tech stack

Continuously improve performance, reliability, and security

Lead initiatives to address technical debt and modernize components

What You Bring:

5+ years of backend software development experience

Strong expertise in Java with Spring Boot or Python with Pandas

Experience building Web Service APIs and/or ETL jobs

Familiarity with AWS Lambda (Python) is a big plus

Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred

Proven experience with unit and integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Git

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s is a plus)

Strong communication and team collaboration skills
