Title: Automation Engineer

Location: Los Alamitos, CA

Pay: $100-150K/year

Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., M-F (flexible hours possible)

Duration: Full-time

Job Summary: Seeking an Intermediate Automation Engineer/Programmer to lead automation projects in water/wastewater, material handling, and life sciences. Responsibilities include control panel design, PLC programming, field device selection, and project commissioning.

Essential Duties:

Design control panels (UL 508A/698 standards)

Select field devices and develop data sheets

Create single line/three-line drawings

Coordinate with panel shop

Develop and execute control panel tests

Lead software logic development (PLC/DCS/HMI)

Interface with project stakeholders

Test and commission control systems

Provide training to customer personnel

Qualifications:

5+ years' experience in design/control system programming

Proficiency in Allen Bradley/Rockwell Automation PLC/visualization platforms (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, FactoryTalk View)

Bachelor's degree in engineering/computer science

Plusses:

Experience with PlantPAx and RA legacy systems (SLC, PLC5, PanelView)

Proficiency in AVEVA System Platform

Proficiency in Schneider Electric PLC/visualization platforms (M340/580, Momentum, Quantum)

Proficiency in other PLC/DCS/visualization platforms (Ignition, GE, Siemens, Delta V)

Experience in VMWare/virtualization
