Position Overview
The Phlebotomist II is responsible for performing routine and specialized blood collection procedures, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and quality sample handling. This position involves regular patient interaction and requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary collections, including pediatric and geriatric patients
Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of specimens
Verify patient identity and maintain compliance with all safety and privacy protocols
Maintain clean and stocked collection areas and equipment
Follow collection procedures for both clinical and forensic samples
Deliver professional and compassionate care to all patients
Support team workflow and communicate effectively with lab personnel and supervisors
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent - Required
At least 3 years of phlebotomy experience - Required
Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draw experience - Required
Experience in a Patient Service Center or similar setting - Preferred
Phlebotomy certification - Preferred
Medical assistant or paramedic training - Preferred
Customer service or retail experience - Preferred
Proficient in computer systems and data entry - Required
Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, patient-first mindset
Schedule & Compensation
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:30 PM
Rotating Saturdays Required
Pay Range: $18-$23/hr, depending on experience
Type: Temp-to-Hire
