Purpose of Role

The plant controller is responsible for overseeing the financial and budgeting operations at our manufacturing facility in Richmond Virginia. Working closely with the shared service center and management team, the plant controller will contribute to the financial success of the plant by offering financial guidance, providing and evaluating operational performance reports to address key challenges, optimize processes and drive continuous improvement within the plant.

Hands-on financial expert in Cost Accounting.

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities required for in-month, end of month and annual reporting for management. Ad-hoc reporting as required.

Daily, monthly, annual operations financial analysis and cost accounting including standard costs maintenance, variance analysis, operations product profitability analysis, operations KPI data management, other ad-hoc analysis as required.

Responsible for the proper recording, tracking and safeguarding of company assets with primary focus on capital assets and inventory.

Assisting with the cash planning and forecasting for the plant.

Contributing to the preparation of the annual operating budget.

Budget variance analysis and forecast requirements.

Works collaboratively across organizational boundaries at all levels to achieve the plant’s financial objectives.

Other ad-hoc support for several financial topics (e.g. insurance or risk handling).

Shares best practices across global finance team e.g. process improvements, financial modeling and reporting.

Able to implement corrective actions to guarantee the successful operation of the plant.

Travel approximately 5% of the time both internationally and within North America.

Adhere to Condair’s Quality Assurance System and Health and Safety policies.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required (strong preference given to a professional accounting designation).

Minimum five (5) years’ experience in general accounting; strong track record in FP&A reporting & analysis in a manufacturing environment required.

Solid understanding of local financial and tax regulations and accounting principles an asset.
