Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join Warwick Hotels and Resorts as a Financial Controller at our Warwick Seattle location. At Warwick, we recognize the importance of and truly value our hardworking team members. As Financial Controller, you will be an important part of the leadership team of the hotel.

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

Directing all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to the general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting for the hotel.

Analyzing financial outcomes with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and other reports to management.

Work with other team members to understand revenue streams, analyze expenses and management of flow-through, and ensure accuracy and timely completion of related reports. Identify areas of opportunities for improving cash flow and tracking of budget and inventories.

Analyze existing and proposed contracts and agreements to ensure the most favorable terms.

Implement and maintain all accounting policies and systems for the hotel, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensure that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Assist hotel management in financial planning and results management.

Coordinating, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

Coordinating and/or preparing tax schedules, returns and information.

Coordinate, schedule, and monitor the auditing process.

Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.

Manage cash flow.

Other finance and administrative duties as required.

Oversee and train two to three or more direct reports.

This position is a member of the Executive team. Generally, this is a Monday-Friday day shift position, but schedule is based on business demands and needs, so at times the need will be greater.

Qualifications

A four-year degree from an accredited university, or a combination of equivalent education and experience with a focus in accounting.

A minimum of two years of financial controller experience in a similar hotel, or three years’ financial controller experience in other hospitality, retail, or restaurant businesses.

Must be highly detailed, accurate, and analytical

Possess excellent presentation, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.

Computer literacy to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to comprehend, read, write and speak English fluently
