Please Note: This position is not for Forvis Mazars LLC. We are working with a specialty construction group in the Indianapolis area to find a qualified Controller to join their team.

Position requires excellent communication skills, quick response to accounting related tasks, and maintenance of knowledge of current marketplace trends related to accounting laws and software. Must produce accurate and timely work, function smoothly in a primarily self-directed environment or work within a team, provide support to the Chief Financial Officer with ongoing support and expertise, display professional appearance and uphold ethical standards at all times.

List of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial reporting

Develop and implement policies and procedures

Maintain general ledger

Budgeting

Exception reporting

Month end close

Ensure Multi-State Registration & Compliance issues are met

Oversee weekly expense report processing

Review Payroll

Monthly G/L reconciliations

Coordinate with CFO annual outside CPA services (Reviews and Compilations)

Monitor daily cash balances

Cash management (in coordination with CFO)

Establish and monitor internal controls

Maintain fixed asset detail

Resolve CMiC Cloud issues

Provide appropriate reports and advice to management team members and executive officers

Assist CFO as needed

Tax:

Estimated payroll tax payments

Prepare and Review payroll tax returns

W-2 preparation for filing

Sales/Use tax returns (All States)

Management of Delegates:

Supervise accounting department staff

Provide guidance and tasks to direct subordinates

Communicate expectations and deadlines

Minimum – Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance

Minimum 5 years accounting experience in public accounting or similar environment with emphasis on construction industry

Cost accounting in Construction is highly preferred

Strong knowledge of Corporate Accounting principals
