Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

Hours-

7am-4pm

Wages-

$24-26 based on experience

Customer service: Consulting with customers, explaining the repair process, and explaining defects to vehicle owners

Work planning: Reading work orders, using technical manuals and charts to plan work procedures

Vehicle inspection: Inspecting vehicles, including the engine, transmission, steering mechanism, brake system, and lighting system

Diagnostic testing: Reading and interpreting diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems

Repairs: Repairing or replacing malfunctioning parts, including mechanical or electrical equipment

Maintenance: Performing basic maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires

Test driving: Test-driving vehicles to ensure they run smoothly

Record keeping: Keeping detailed records of all vehicles serviced

Inventory: Keeping track of inventory

Workplace cleanliness: Maintaining the cleanliness of the workplace
