Key Responsibilities of the Nuclear Medicine Technologist

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will:

Perform Nuclear Medicine Imaging: Operate specialized imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images, aiding in the detection and treatment of diseases.

Administer Radiopharmaceuticals: Carefully administer radiopharmaceuticals in line with established protocols and safety regulations.

Ensure Patient Comfort: Position patients comfortably and provide reassurance during the imaging process.

Monitor and Record Vital Signs: Observe patients for any adverse reactions and document relevant data to ensure the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.

Operate and Maintain Equipment: Ensure that all nuclear medicine equipment is functioning optimally, conducting regular maintenance for accuracy and safety.

Collaborate with Healthcare Professionals: Work with radiologists, physicians, and other specialists to interpret nuclear medicine images and integrate them into treatment plans.

Document Procedures and Results: Maintain detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with medical standards and regulations.

Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to radiation safety guidelines to protect both patients and staff.

Stay Current: Continuously update your knowledge of nuclear medicine technology and advancements to provide the best care.

To qualify for this role, you must have:

BLS Certification (required)

ARRT Certification (required)

NMTCB Certification (required)

2+ years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a clinical setting
