Pay: $131,705 - $210,724 / year. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Requirements:

- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program. Master's degree required.

- Registered as a Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT), or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). State licensure if required by law.

- 5 years of relevant experience.

The Director of Imaging Services is responsible for the overall direction, management, and operational efficiency of the Imaging Services department(s), primarily focusing on optimizing the patient journey and ensuring the highest clinical quality and safety standards. The Director will strategically manage financial performance, regulatory compliance, and staff development and foster strong, patient-focused relationships with medical staff and other departments. This leader will develop and implement strategic plans prioritizing patient needs, comfort, and outcomes while ensuring high-quality, safe, and cost-effective imaging services aligned with the organization's mission and vision.

Responsibilities:

- Patient-Centered Strategic Leadership and Planning:

- Develop, implement, and monitor the strategic plan for Imaging Services, ensuring it directly supports the organization's overall strategic goals, emphasizing enhancing patient access, experience, and outcomes.

- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, patient feedback, and evolving needs to inform strategic decision-making.

- Collaborate with senior leadership, medical staff, and other departments on strategic initiatives.

- Operational Management:

- Oversee the daily operations of all imaging modalities, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal resource utilization, and timely service delivery that minimizes patient wait times and anxiety.

- Develop and maintain departmental policies, procedures, and protocols following best practices and regulatory requirements, with a focus on creating a seamless and comfortable patient experience.

- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, productivity, patient throughput, and financial performance, always considering the impact on patient access and satisfaction.

- Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and optimize patient flow, comfort, and communication.

- Manage equipment maintenance, repairs, and procurement in collaboration with relevant departments, ensuring the availability of reliable technology for accurate diagnoses and patient care.

- Clinical Quality and Patient Safety:

- Ensure the delivery of high-quality imaging services that meet or exceed professional standards and regulatory requirements, placing patient safety and diagnostic accuracy at the forefront.

- Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control programs with a direct focus on minimizing risks and ensuring the best possible outcomes for every patient.

- Promote a culture of patient safety and actively participate in safety initiatives, empowering staff to prioritize patient well-being in all aspects of their work.

- Oversee the credentialing and privileging of imaging staff in collaboration with medical staff services, ensuring that highly qualified professionals are providing care to our patients.

- Ensure strict compliance with radiation safety protocols to protect both patients and staff from unnecessary exposure.

- Financial Management:

- Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and cost-effectiveness to maximize resources available for patient care and technological advancements.

- Monitor revenue and expenses, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure the financial sustainability of providing high-quality patient services.

- Participate in the development of pricing strategies for imaging services, considering patient affordability and access to necessary care.

- Optimize billing and coding practices to ensure accurate reimbursement, reducing administrative burdens for patients and the organization.

- Identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction that can be reinvested in enhancing patient care and services.

- Human Resources Management:

- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate imaging services staff, prioritizing candidates who demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and employee engagement, recognizing that a supported and engaged team provides better patient care.

- Develop and implement staff development and continuing education programs, ensuring staff have the knowledge and skills to provide the highest level of patient care and utilize technology effectively.

- Address employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner, maintaining a supportive environment that allows staff to focus on patient needs.

- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient needs and operational demands, guaranteeing timely access to imaging services.

- Physician Relations:

- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with referring physicians and radiologists, fostering open communication to ensure seamless and coordinated patient care.

- Serve as a primary point of contact for physician inquiries and concerns related to imaging services, facilitating efficient communication that benefits patient management.

- Collaborate with medical staff to optimize imaging protocols and ensure appropriate utilization of services, leading to the most effective diagnostic pathways for our patients.

- Participate in medical staff meetings and committees as required, representing the needs and perspectives of the imaging department in the context of overall patient care.

- Regulatory Compliance and Accreditation:

- Ensure departmental compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to patient safety and quality standards.

- Oversee the preparation for and participation in regulatory surveys and accreditation processes, reinforcing our dedication to providing a safe and high-quality environment for our patients.

- Stay abreast of changes in regulations and standards and implement necessary updates to policies and procedures, proactively ensuring the continued safety and well-being of our patients.

- Technology and Innovation:

- Evaluate and recommend new imaging technologies and equipment to enhance diagnostic capabilities and directly improve patient outcomes and the quality of information available to physicians.

- Oversee the implementation and integration of new technologies within the department, ensuring a smooth transition that benefits both staff and patients.

- Ensure staff are properly trained on new equipment and software, empowering them to utilize technology effectively for accurate diagnoses and patient care.
