The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

As a Senior Manager, Associate Creative Director – Owned Brand Copywriting, you will leverage your deep owned brand and packaging expertise to be a driving force in Target Creative by leading a team of Owned Brand & Packaging Copywriters who bring to life all of Target’s Owned Brands and sustain all components of Owned Brand Packaging. You will support and develop the Owned Brand Copywriters on your team along with leading copy-specific brand creation projects, creating breakthrough experiences across all brands and categories. You will articulate Target’s brand to infuse the work with an unmistakably Target approach and will be responsible for building and further defining Target’s Owned Brands, acting as a consultant in the shaping and sharing of style guides and best practices. You will be looked to as the point person for copy on high-profile and/or business critical projects, leading within ambiguity and clarifying copy points of view. You’ll coach and evaluate work through the lens of creative, but also guest experience and marketing goals. You’ll build and maintain partnerships across Marketing, Merchandising, Brand Management, Packaging, and within Target Creative leadership. You will work to evolve how we create work, approaching content creation in new and more efficient ways, and will partner closely with both local and global partners to do so. You will establish strategies for achieving individual and team goals that align to the broader Target Creative vision, Copywriter vision and drive successful outcomes.
Critical to this role is having a deep expertise in Owned Brand Creation and Packaging Copywriting with experience in both digital and store experience marketing. You are someone who stays current with retail & packaging trends and experiences and are a passionate advocate for memorable copy and creative. You are a proactive, self-starter and have a high attention to detail with a blend of a creative, strategic and process mindset. We’ll support you along the way with personal and career development, to help you grow as a strong Senior Manager, Associate Creative Director – Owned Brand Copywriting.

About you:
Four-year degree or equivalent work experience
8+ years of copywriting experience across a wide range of channels, including Owned Brand Creation & Packaging channels
Ability to guide and coach Owned Brands & Packaging writing and creative at a high-level and apply a critical eye to creative work
Refined presentation and negotiation skills, and the ability to align partners in high stakes moments
Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and develop people, including providing meaningful feedback and managing performance
Ability to lead a team through challenging and ambiguous moments, with strong leadership qualities including management and interpersonal skills
Proactive at seeking solutions to improve processes and elevate the work
Strong creative portfolio demonstrating breadth of creative capabilities, with a focus on Owned Brand copywriting, packaging creative and innovation
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
