Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member's tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice. These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Position Overview

The Department of Economics at The Ohio State University invites applications for a position in macroeconomics at the rank of associate professor or professor with tenure to begin in August 2025.

Performance Objectives

The candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program and support our commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of a diverse student body at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Education and Experience Requirements

Required: Candidates must have a PhD in Economics or a related field before employment begins in August 2025, and have a research, teaching, and service record commensurate with the associate professor or professor level.

Desired: Preference is given to candidates with a record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and evidence of impact in their field as indicated by citations, funding, and professional service. Candidates should demonstrate attentiveness to building a diverse intellectual community, in line with OSU's shared values (see below).
