INTRODUCTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Administrator to join our team. The Network Administrator will be responsible for the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of our organization's network infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with other IT professionals and report to the IT Director to ensure the stability and reliability of our network, as well as provide technical support to end-users.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the Local Area Networks, Global Wide Area Network transporting data and packetized voice streams (VOIP), enterprise-wide inter-network and other data communication systems.

• Cisco Meraki SD-WAN Management: Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco Meraki SD-WAN devices. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Optimize SD-WAN configurations to ensure efficient traffic routing.

• VMware vCenter and vSphere Administration: Manage virtual infrastructure using VMware vCenter and vSphere. Provision and maintain virtual machines according to organizational needs. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.

• Active Directory Management: Maintain and administer Active Directory services. Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies. Troubleshoot authentication and access issues.

• Cybersecurity Implementation: Implement and manage cybersecurity measures, including Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS). Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

• Azure Cloud Integration: Manage Azure Cloud services and resources. Implement and optimize cloud-based solutions to enhance scalability and reliability. Ensure secure access and data protection in the Azure environment.

• High-Level IT Support: Provide technical support to end-users and resolve escalated IT issues. Collaborate with other IT teams to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems. Develop and maintain documentation for IT processes and procedures.

• Support Team Administration: Coordinate with support team members to prioritize and delegate tasks. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members. Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the IT support team.

• Responsible for network administration, maintenance and standards creation and implementation.

• Maintains quality service by following organizational standards.

• Manage disaster recovery and back-up.

• Evaluate and recommend security improvements and system upgrades.

• Create and maintain network users/permissions.

• Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.

• Maintain servers and associated hardware, applications, services, and settings.

• Completing software and hardware installation projects for STOI personnel and customers.

• Document network configurations, policies, and procedures.

• Consult with department heads to determine the role of the IT system in an organization.

• Research emerging technologies to evaluate whether they can increase the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.

• Monitor and maintain the performance and availability of our network systems and devices.

• Design and develop new systems by choosing and configuring hardware and software.

• Run and terminate data transmission lines for network and endpoint expansion.

• Maintain current computers, servers, and network infrastructure.

• Train the system’s end users and write instruction manuals.

• Monitor and respond to trouble tickets in a timely manner.

• Provide technical support for local and remote users.

• Maintain relationships with employees of various departments to ensure open lines of communications exist to facilitate the timely and efficient transfer of policies, procedures, knowledge, etc. exist across the entire organization.

• Management, installation, configuration, upgrade, audit, monitoring, and troubleshooting of enterprise network and security infrastructure, such as but not limited to Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Network (WLAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), VPN, Firewalls, Access Points, Wireless Controllers, VoIP, Unified communications, Voice gateway, and other security applications (SOC), to meet company’s objectives and industry best practices.

• Implement and monitor security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats.

• Analyze and resolve problems to maintain stability within the overall infrastructure and growth.

• Demonstrate basic project management abilities at all levels of technology modifications or upgrades, deployments, or migrations.

• Provide suggestions for improvements based on discoveries made with a view to reducing recurring faults or improving the service provision.

• Contribute to the IT Department’s technical documentation and participate in the development of procedures and standards (Tutorials, training tools, troubleshooting, security prevention/awareness guides, etc.).

• Assist with the day-to-day delivery of support to the organization. Own all aspects of IT Service Management including but not limited to Asset, Incident, Request, Change and Release Management, ensuring IT Helpdesk tickets are addressed within the company.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

• 3 years of database administration, network administration, or system administration experience.

• Demonstrated knowledge of IT Service Management practices such as ITIL or Agile.

• Manage and/or participate in projects that will improve processes and build efficiencies for IT.

• Implement new solutions that will help increase reliability of the IT environment.

• Work with Global IT on new projects, studies, documentation, and solutions to help align our goals as an organization.

• Knowledge of Virtualization technologies like Hyper-V and VMware.

• Cloud computing platforms like (Microsoft Azure)

• Network Protocols e.g., (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)

• Operating Systems like Windows Server, Linux and Unix)

• Customer Service Orientation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or 5 equivalent experiences required in System Administration.

• Special certifications required: CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, Cisco CCNA, Cloud Certifications especially AZURE or comparable certifications.

• 5 years System administration experience in a matrix organization, nonprofit organization, or relevant enterprise industrial setup.

• +3 years of software development experience.

• +3 years of Experience in fund accounting software.

• +3Years Database management and Administration.

CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED:

• Azure Fundamentals and Server Administration or any other certifications in cloud infrastructures like AWS, Google, Oracle etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), (Azure Certifications).

• 5 years Relevant work experience in system administration, network administration and software development.

• Specialized training or certification in specific technologies or platforms used by the organization (e.g., AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate).

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Experience with scripting and automation languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Perl.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and experience implementing security measures.

• Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) principles and practices.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with team members and stakeholders.

• Experience with project management methodologies and tools for managing IT projects effectively.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.

• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
