EHC is currently looking for an Assoicate Project Manager for a client in south Houston, TX area.

The Associate Project Managers are responsible for managing the project team for delivering projects on time and on budget. They have ultimate responsibility for the schedule, scope, and budget on multiple commercial projects, in multiple locales, simultaneously. They are often required to provide estimation work during pre-development and for in-house construction projects. They work closely with A&E firms, municipalities and other regulatory agencies, from project permitting to completion. Emphasis is placed on strong subcontractor and client relations.
The Associate Project Manager needs to be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. They will have good construction knowledge and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Typically, they hold a bachelor’s degree in building construction, architecture, or engineering and have a minimum of 5 years as an assistant project manager or project manager.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with engineers, architects, owners, and management to determine the specifications of the project
Developing and implementing the construction schedules for each project and updating on a regular basis for all team members
Vetting vendors and contractors for adherence to insurance requirements and other necessary paperwork
Creating and maintaining all financial reports, draw schedules, project logs and working with accounting department to make sure all bills are promptly paid and collected
Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
Reviewing and processing change order requests and submitting change orders to client(s)
Work with estimators and superintendents on developing project budgets and value engineering
Assist in planning construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
Assist in acquiring equipment and material and monitoring stocks to timely handle inadequacies
Overseeing adherence to all health and safety standards by superintendent(s) and report issues
Qualifications:
Have experience with commercial ground-up and renovation projects
Experience with a of project types (office, retail, industrial)
Bachelors degree in building construction, building science, architecture, or engineering.
In-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Knowledgeable in construction/project management software (Yardi, Procore, Sage, etc…)
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Team player with leadership abilities
