U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Sr Application Developer – Internal Fraud in Irving, Texas.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Application Developer – Internal Fraud will be responsible for working on applications for fraud detection and prevention during payment transactions. The position will: Understand requirements before development and design by collaborating with business analysts and product teams. Design requirements/enhancements that adhere to microservice architectural best practices while considering scalability, reliability and performance of systems using Visio Diagrams. Take full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code based on the design, while being mindful of customer experience. Develop a fraud score tool for the detection of fraud during payment transactions. Develop and build code on a Spring boot framework with microservice architecture using Oracle as the database. Review code and provide feedback for code flaws and vulnerability in the code before merging it to the main branch. Fix security vulnerability in code before deployment to the IT and UAT environments. Deploy code using Jenkins to the IT and UAT environment. Test the application based on the unit test plan, including executing test scripts against the application, checking the results of the tests, and fixing defects if necessary. Review tasks critically and ensuring they are appropriately prioritized and sized for incremental delivery. Anticipate and communicate blockers and delays before they require escalation. Follow agile methodology for development while handling sprint grooming, estimation and planning sessions. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Basic Qualifications:
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering or Computer Science plus at least 5 years of experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess at least 5 years of experience with each of the following: (a) constructing programs based on functional specifications using Java/J2EE; (b) participating in architectural discussions; (c) implementing code refactoring using design patterns; (d) creating and developing applications and functionalities using Java, Spring, and Spring MVC; (e) maintaining projects in version control using GIT (f) writing Oracle SQL queries for interacting with the database and (g) utilizing all the following: Java 8; HTML, JavaScript, Junit, CSS, JSON, XML, Maven, Oracle, REST API, SOAP and SQL.
