Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Network Engineer with L1/L2 level expertise to support our IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with networking hardware such as routers, switches, cabling, and datacenter installation activities. This role involves supporting and maintaining network environments and resolving technical issues both remotely and on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform L1/L2 troubleshooting and support for network issues.
Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
Execute structured cabling (Ethernet/fiber), patching, labeling, and cable management in datacenter and office environments.
Provide hands-on support during datacenter and server room build-outs.
Monitor network performance using tools and respond to alerts or degradation in service.
Coordinate with vendors and senior network teams for issue escalation and resolution.
Maintain documentation of network layouts, configurations, and incident resolutions.
Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
2–5 years of experience in network operations and support.
Solid understanding of networking concepts – TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP.
Hands-on experience with cabling (copper/fiber), patch panels, and network racks.
Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar switching/routing platforms.
Knowledge of datacenter hardware installation and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with basic firewall and wireless configurations is a plus.
Working knowledge of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
Good communication and documentation skills.
Ability to lift equipment and work in server rooms/datacenters as needed.
Certifications (Preferred):
CCNA or equivalent
CompTIA Network+
ITIL Foundation (optional but beneficial)
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
