Position Summary:
We are seeking a Control Engineer to design, develop, and optimize automation and control systems that drive efficiency and performance in our manufacturing and production environments. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLCs, HMIs, and other industrial control systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in automation, electrical systems, and industrial controls, with experience in designing and integrating hardware and software solutions. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and safety of our control systems while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
The Control Engineer will report to our Director of Advanced Technology and will work onsite 5 days a week out of the office in Somerset, NJ.
Responsibilities:
Develop, program, and maintain PLCs and HMI systems for automation control.
Design and integrate robotic systems to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Implement and oversee vision systems for quality control and defect detection.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for automated systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
3+ years of expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI design.
3+ years of experience with robotic systems (e.g., ABB, Fanuc) and vision systems (Cognex, Keyence).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
Understanding of electrical systems and schematics.
Python and/or C++ programming knowledge is an advantage
