Functional Description:
DDG is seeking an Instructional System Design (ISD) specialist to support the U. S. Marine Corps College of Distance Education and Training (CDET). The ISD will be part of the management team responsible for the Marine Corps eLearning Ecosystem (eLE), providing evaluation, guidance, training and technical support to a wide variety of educators and organizations. The position will be on site in Government provided space at Marine Corps University, Quantico VA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide ISD expertise to SMEs and course directors regarding the validity and technical performance for instructor-led, synchronous, and asynchronous delivery via the MarineNet eLE.
Develop training materials, provide guidance, and lead live instruction/demos for assigned component(s) within the MarineNet eLE.
Provide ISD expertise to Academics Officers and Course Directors in conducting user testing.
Maintain and safeguard electronic files, EOC exams, and associated answer keys.
Review course content and assessments for electronic delivery via the LSS and government assessment tool.
Electronically track current MarineNet eLE issues and status via the assigned application.
Inform MarineNet eLE stakeholders of any changes to the MarineNet eLE including functionality, updates to CDET policy and procedures, and new courses added to MarineNet.
Review and assist with daily service support requests.
Review MarineNet eLE stakeholder requests to ensure they comply with CDET policy.
Provide operational expertise to TECOM programs as requested.
Review, in tandem with CDET Student Support, MarineNet eLE roles and ensure compliance with CDET policies.
Required Experience:
Fundamental knowledge of educational theories and principles.
Effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Desired Experience:
Experience with content creation tools/applications (e.g. Captivate, Creative Cloud Tools, Adobe Connect, Camtasia, DominKnow).
Experience with Learning Support Systems (e.g., Moodle) and Assessment Tools (e.g. Questionmark).
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP), and MySQL programming skills.
Experience with Jira and/or Confluence.
Experience with courseware development or similar academic support.
Prior military experience or experience supporting the military.
Education Requirements:
BA/BS from an accredited university (HS diploma with certifications for desired applications acceptable alternative).
