The St. Louis County Information Technology department is seeking an Associate Telecom Analyst to join our Telecom support team. This role will provide support to ensure the integrity and operation of the enterprise telecommunications infrastructure are maintained and fully operational.
The typical starting salary is $51,646 - $61,984 annually depending upon the candidate's qualifications as well as budgetary considerations. Examples of Duties
Work under the guidance of the Senior Telecom Analyst to understand business requirements
Contribute to the implementation of technical and operational work orders, upgrades and new system implementation that require vendor/carrier coordination
Assist in performing emergency technical and operational work by evaluation requests, identifying and resolving problems or coordination solution with vendor/carrier
Provide real-time telecommunications system support to internal and external customers
Assess network and circuit requirements and process appropriate orders
Develop user materials, provide technical assistance through one-on-one or group training
Produce documentation of technical configurations and issue resolutions
Reviewing and analyzing telecommunication usage data and contribute to identifying trends and areas for improvement
Assist in researching projects, generating reports and contributing to strategic planning
Collaborate with other analysts, engineers and managers to achieve project goals
Maintain the ticketing queue to keep Service Level Agreements within acceptable levels
Install and test telecommunication components
Coordinate moves, adds, and changes of telecommunication equipment
Perform other duties as required or assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to a degree in telecommunications or related field and three years of related experience.

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.
The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.
The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.
All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.
