JOB SUMMARY: Provide timely and effective pre-hospital basic life support care and transportation for the sick and injured, adhering to local, state, national, and Acadian Ambulance standards.
EQUIPMENT: Responsible for maintaining and operating the ambulance and its various medical equipment including stretchers, spinal immobilization tools, radios, oxygen devices, and more.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct thorough examinations of patients to assess their condition.
Administer basic life support care efficiently under established protocols.
Safely transport patients to medical facilities while ensuring comfort and care.
Accurately document patient conditions and treatments during EMS run reports.
Perform regular checks and inventory of EMS equipment to ensure readiness.
Operate the ambulance under diverse conditions, prioritizing safety at all times.
Communicate effectively with team members and healthcare professionals.
Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Fulfill responsibilities to maintain the cleanliness of the ambulance and equipment.
Act as a Field Training Officer for EMT-Basic students when qualified.
Complete additional duties as required by supervisors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift patients and equipment and navigate various environments including high or challenging terrains.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED.
National or State certification as Emergency Medical Technician-Basic.
Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Valid driver's license in compliance with state requirements.
Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and the public.
Familiarity with operational procedures and safety protocols.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: Complete orientation to job responsibilities to ensure readiness.
