As a Fabrication Supervisor, you will provide leadership and direction to the welding and fabrication team, ensuring production goals are met with a focus on quality, efficiency, and safety. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintaining standards, and developing your team to support a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Responsibilities
Review daily production logs from each operator
Lead regular communication meetings within the department
Communicate key information through daily shift-to-shift updates
Provide direct supervision to hourly production team members
Ensure adherence to processes and procedures to maximize efficiency and quality
Oversee on-time and high-quality completion of production activities
Assign tasks and direct welders and fabrication team members
Ensure safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed
Maintain equipment cleanliness, housekeeping standards, and report equipment failures timely
Collaborate with other departments (welding, shipping, maintenance, paint, blast, laser) to meet production goals
Maintain accurate records of production activities
Train, support, and guide team members to develop skills, work habits, and safety practices
Monitor and evaluate employee performance and hold team members accountable
Monitor welding quality to ensure industry standards are met
Develop and implement workplace safety policies and procedures
Report project status and any production delays at daily production meetings
Train new welders in welding techniques and safety procedures
Supervise all fabrication activities, including fit-up, welding, and lifting operations Qualifications and Requirements
3+ years of experience supervising fabrication or welding operations
Strong leadership and team development skills
Solid understanding of welding techniques and fabrication processes
Ability to read blueprints and production specifications
Excellent communication and organizational skills
