ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support N3B in a direct role! This position is full-time and will be based out of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
Deliver top-notch solutions for various projects.
Prepare and present technical equipment data sheets, demonstrating your attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Craft technical equipment specifications
Support field investigations or assessments. Collect data and gather information or documents. Perform standard computations or analysis.
Perform electrical design modeling to develop safe and reliable electrical power system designs including protection requirements.
Apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
Familiarity of system protection functions and controls in industrial power distribution systems at medium and low voltages
Develop plan layouts, details, and one-line diagrams for lighting, power, security, and telecommunications systems designs
Oversee development of detailed design drawings and visual aids.
Proficiency with SKM system analysis software for load flow, short circuit analysis, and arc flash hazards.
Selection of distribution equipment to meet the system requirements
Participate with the writing and the production of project reports, forms, policies and procedures.
Work with and under the direct guidance and mentorship of senior engineers.

Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance, and as such, US Citizenship is required.
Requirements
Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field froman ABET accredited college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Citizenship – To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
Clearance – To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
5+ years of responsible charge of electrical engineering work and relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and technical writing.
Detailed understanding of NEC codes and the ability to communicate their implementation
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to understand and apply industry codes and standards.
Experience with AutoCAD, SKM PTW and/or other design related software.e
Desired Skills
PE certification is a plus.
About the Site
N3B manages the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract for the U.S. Department of Energy Environmental Management’s Los Alamos Field Office, which is responsible for cleaning up contamination that resulted from LANL operations before 1999 and packaging and shipping radioactive and hazardous waste off-site for permanent disposal (n3b-la.com).
