Software Engineer Desktop Applications

Description

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement desktop applications using WPF and .NET Core. You will leverage the Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) to build modular, extensible solutions, integrating with SQL Server backends to deliver high-performance production applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and implement desktop applications using WPF, .NET Core, and C#, adhering to MVVM patterns.

Utilize MEF for pluggable architectures with dynamic component loading.

Optimize UI rendering and data binding for responsive applications.

Integrate with SQL Server using Entity Framework for data access and stored procedure execution.

Write and maintain unit tests (e.g., MSTest, NUnit) to ensure code quality.

Debug and resolve complex issues using tools like Visual Studio Diagnostics or JetBrains dotTrace.

Integrate with modern and legacy service frameworks (e.g., WCF, gRPC).

Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and CI/CD pipeline maintenance using Git-based workflows

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

0+ years of experience in WPF development with .NET Core.

Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.

Deep expertise in C#, XAML, and MVVM architecture.

Experience with MEF or equivalent frameworks for dynamic module composition and dependency injection.

Strong proficiency in Entity Framework for SQL Server, including query optimization and schema design.

Solid understanding of threading, async/await, and memory management in .NET.

Experience writing unit tests with MSTest, NUnit, or equivalent frameworks.

Proficiency with Git for source control, including branching, merging, and integration with CI/CD pipelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in WPF development with .NET Core.

Familiarity with .NET Framework or legacy WPF applications.

Experience with basic integration testing for SQL Server data access.

Knowledge of performance profiling tools (e.g., Redgate, JetBrains dotTrace).
