Job Description Details:
The Benefit Analyst 3 serves as a subject matter expert for retirement benefits. This role maintains relationships with internal and external partners, assists in maintaining plan compliance and strategic decision-making, and works on projects and audits to support the successful coordination of retirement benefits. This role involves establishing procedures for Total Rewards and other internal partners. The Analyst adds value to the university by helping to create a seamless retirement experience for employees, from the moment they are hired all the way through retirement. Additionally, the Analyst manages complex retirement inquiries and resolves issues. This position also supports departmental objectives through process improvement initiatives and projects.
Responsibilities:
Monitors metrics and agreed upon performance guarantees and advises retirement plan providers to ensure effectiveness of service delivery, monitors and tracks payments for retirement plan expenditures and credits and resolves discrepancies, establishes procedures for Total Rewards to ensure plan compliance and provides applicable training, creates and manages internal and vendor audits, creates materials for HR, leaders, managers, and employees to communicate and educate on the organization's benefit principles and programs, supports complex projects and leads specific aspects, ensures employee retirement plans meet regulatory standards and government policies, resolves complex or unusual participant and vendor retirement issues by conducting research and investigating inquiries, provides data and supporting documentation for Retirement Oversight Committee, supports relationships with HR leadership team and HR Business Partners to improve and implement retirement solutions and service delivery
40% - Audits internal and external partners and processes to strengthen compliance, resolve areas of non-compliance and escalated inquires, establishes procedures for benefit administration and provides training.
30% - Leads various aspects of complex projects and supports internal relationships to improve and implement retirement solutions.
20% - Creates and reviews all modes of communication materials for participants, units, and internal and external partners.
10% - Monitors and tracks performance guarantees, plan expenditures, and credit balancing and usage.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
4 years of relevant experience (experience with plan documents, vendor relations, excel, knowledge of Ohio Revised Code and IRS rules, project management)
Desired Qualifications:
4-8 years of relevant experience.
Experience in a higher education setting with retirement work history.
Advanced degree in relevant field.

Salary Range: $69,400-$81,105
