Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Health System is committed to improving access and service to customers. The Department of Patient Access Services (PAS) functions as an integral member of the health care team to reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect. This department further provides the scheduling and registration function for both the inpatients and outpatients that access hospital-based services. Data is gathered for billing, clinical, physicians' relations, clergy, compliance and statistical purposes. Accurate data is gathered prior to or at the time services are rendered. Department provides miscellaneous patient and visitor information. Registration areas include hospital-based registration sites. The department operates twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week.
The PAS Operational Trainer ensures workforce development and consistent quality standards by overseeing new hire training, facilitating ongoing education for existing staff, maintaining quality assurance and supporting professional development across all hospital-based locations. This role coordinates, reviews and leads programs or processes, performing technical, operational or administrative tasks as needed.
Position Summary
The PAS Operational Trainer plays a critical role in planning, designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating comprehensive training programs to support the adoption and optimization of integrated information systems. These systems are crucial for advancing revenue cycle performance, clinical practices, administrative operations, and management outcomes. Leveraging deep expertise in operational best practices, application knowledge, and educational methods, this role ensures consistent, effective operational processes and provides robust support for all current and future applications, including software upgrades. Responsibilities encompass the end-to-end assessment, planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of training initiatives. Additionally, the trainer contributes to the analysis and refinement of existing workflows, collaborates with operational leaders to define future state application workflows, and drives the alignment of training efforts with organizational goals and outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Per CCS Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification or vocational training may be required
Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 4 years of relevant experience required. 6 or more years of relevant experience preferred.
PC Knowledge and interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
Background in registration and customer service.
