Assistant Project Manager FF&E, NYC
Overview:
BFW Construction Project Managers is a growing construction project management agency that provides project management, owners representation and staff augmentation to building owners, non-profits, government, institutions, schools, colleges and universities; and our project management partners. BFW is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to provide staff augmentation for it’s affiliate corporation in NYC, Certified-BFW on a complex furniture install for a large corporate client in Manhattan. BFW is seeking a candidate that can multi-task, is flexible, can work the required hours of 5+ days on site, and can function in a fast paced environment. The successful candidate needs excellent people skills and must be a team player. Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills. This position is full-time and on-site 5 days a week, with some evening and Saturday AM work as the deliveries are made to the job site.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with the warehouse team, Project team, and clients as it relates to service and project requests.
Communicate with field labor about the jobs they are handling- finding out the progress of the job, the materials and tools needed, etc.
Assist in the creation of and/or the review of base contracts and change orders.
Work with the accounting and project team on invoicing and closing out projects- base contract invoices, progress payments, and change order invoices.
Reconcile deliveries as furniture is delivered to job site.
Organize job folders within our k drive.
Identifying problems, services, and required work directly with Account Managers.
Learn how to create project schedules
Develop and distribute daily project field reports through Procore.
Participate in meeting kick-offs and project execution strategies.
Help to manage labeling of deliveries and reserve elevators as needed for deliveries.
Perform other duties as needed at the request of Team members to ensure successful project completion.
Qualifications:
Experience in or with commercial furniture, construction, project management. Experience in a corporate environment is preferred but not required.
2 years of Experience in a project coordinator/APM position preferred.
