Personal Assistant (Dog Care + Household Management) – Washington DC
Start Date: Immediately, latest by June 9th 2025
Location: Washington DC (Must live within a 30-minute driving radius of Washington DC)
Schedule:
· Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Strict Requirement – Must be available during these hours)
Compensation & Benefits:
· $5,000/month
· Standard employee benefits and vacation time.
· Perks:
o Option for live-in accommodations during the week, select weekdays, or in inclement weather.
o Willing to stay overnight and manage the dog and household when the client is traveling (not expected frequently; may be 2-3 nights per trip as needed).
o Meals included for live-in days.
o Client will be renting a detached home with a fenced yard for the dog’s safety and comfort.
About the Role:
A business professional is seeking a reliable, active, and organized Personal Assistant to help with household management, dog care, and local guidance. This is an excellent role for someone who enjoys animals, has an active lifestyle, and is highly knowledgeable about the Washington DC area.
Key Responsibilities:
Dog Care & Transport
Walk, feed, and provide daily care for a large-breed sled dog (Samoyed).
Comfortable handling strong and large sled dogs.
Transport the dog to and from daycare as needed.
Schedule and accompany the dog to vet visits, vaccinations, and routine check-ups.
Willing to stay overnight and manage the dog and household when the client is traveling (2-3 nights per trip, as needed).
2. Household Management
Grocery shopping, light meal preparation, and light housekeeping (not a primary housekeeping role).
Schedule and oversee external housekeeping services (deep cleaning twice a month).
Laundry and dry-cleaning pick-up/drop-off.
Research and schedule local services (e.g., maintenance, home services).
Receive and organize household deliveries.
Monitor home security and maintain household organization.
3. Personal Support & Scheduling
Manage the homeowner’s personal calendar and schedule appointments.
Clean and fuel the family vehicle as needed.
4. Local Guidance & Education
Must know the Washington DC area very well and be able to guide and educate the client on:
Local stores, retailers, and delivery services.
Best grocery stores, specialty shops, and pharmacies.
Nearby gyms, fitness studios, and recreation areas.
Weather trends and seasonal expectations.
Local events, markets, and useful community resources.
5. Move-in Assistance
Help coordinate moving logistics (scheduling deliveries, unpacking assistance—no heavy lifting required).
Assist with setting up household services (internet, utilities, etc.).
Requirements:
Must have reliable transportation and live within a 30-minute driving radius of Washington DC.
Prefer College graduate but open to High School graduates with good communication and organizational skills.
Must have good computer skills, own a laptop and be technology savvy.
Must be legally eligible to work in USA and be classified as an employee.
Must have experience with big breed dogs. Dog is 85-pound Samoyed that pulls, requires a strong person.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (e.g., dog-related items, groceries).
Must pass a standard background check.
Must provide three (3) professional references.
Comfortable working in a home environment.
Prefer someone who does not have other work/employment obligations during the week
Available to start End of May / beginning of June
Ideal Candidate:
Extensive Knowledge of Washington DC – Familiar with stores, services, gyms, retail, and weather trends. Background in Sports, Kinesiology, or Veterinary Fields Preferred – Ideal for those with experience in physical activity, animal care, or rehabilitation. Experienced with Strong, Large-Breed Dogs – Comfortable handling Huskies, Samoyeds, or similar breeds. Active & Outdoorsy – Enjoys long walks and outdoor activities. Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented – Manages scheduling and household logistics effectively. Independent & Trustworthy – Works with minimal supervision and maintains confidentiality. Strong Communicator – Speaks and writes English fluently.
