CakeBoxx Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven technical Program Manager to join our team on-site in McLean, Virginia. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and executing manufacturing and service delivery programs in the transportation and logistics equipment sectors, ensuring successful delivery and driving operational efficiency. This role requires a strong ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage complex project timelines, and align program objectives with overall business goals. The ideal candidate will possess:

Demonstrated practical program management experience in transportation, storage, logistics and global supply chain operations

Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget

Effective organizational, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills

Understanding and working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, fabrication and welding techniques and processes

An innovative approach to optimizing processes and overcoming challenges in highly regulated industries

Natural leadership abilities with self-starting instincts and the capability to act independently

This position will work closely with and report directly to executive leadership in the program management and engineering divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Management & Execution: Oversee and drive the successful execution of CakeBoxx Technologies’ manufacturing and service delivery programs, ensuring alignment with company growth objectives across multiple customer sectors.

Develop and implement strategic program plans to achieve company success and expansion

Oversee and manage multiple project teams, ensuring that program goals, milestones, and deliverables are met

Manage budgets and funding channels to optimize productivity and financial efficiency

Support business development efforts by identifying and securing new program opportunities and contracts

Utilize technical expertise and communication skills to understand customer challenges and position CakeBoxx solutions effectively

Maintain high standards of quality, performance, and customer satisfaction across all programs

Proven experience operating within Quality Management Systems environments

Project Oversight & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Lead program assessment and evaluation efforts, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

Develop and maintain strong coordination with customers on current and future projects

Oversee all aspects of multiple projects, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, procurement, quality, and stakeholder management

Collaborate with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and project managers to define scope, deliverables, resource needs, and timelines for new initiatives

Ensure effective vendor and internal resource management to drive optimal performance

Performance Monitoring & Communication:

Accurately forecast capital, expenses, and resource utilization across projects

Track and monitor project progress, providing regular status updates and performance insights

Serve as a key participant in program and project team meetings, contributing to strategic discussions and problem-solving efforts

Manage all program-related communications, escalating key issues and presenting resolution options to leadership

Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures and compliance standards

Proposal Development & Business Growth Support:

Contribute to the development of quotations, proposals, and customer presentations

Collaborate with internal teams to support customer acquisition and retention initiatives

Provide insights and recommendations to leadership based on market trends, competitor analysis, and program performance data

Qualifications/Experience:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline

Relevant Experience: 10+ years of direct experience in mechanical systems manufacturing, fabrication, transportation and logistics / supply chain in one or more of the following areas:

New product development

Program management

Manufacturing

Operations research and analysis

Factory acceptance testing

Certification

Product rollout and Initial/Full Operational Capability (IOC/FOC) fielding

3–5 years of experience as a project manager or program manager leading and directing product delivery projects within a major defense or aerospace company. General knowledge of manufacturing techniques and quality control processes.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage resources, time, and priorities effectively

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly

Acute attention to detail with a strategic and analytical mindset

Strong understanding of change management principles and performance evaluation processes

Customer-focused mindset with exceptional intuition and problem-solving abilities

Proven ability to identify business opportunities and drive them to successful execution

High level of professionalism, tact, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility and accountability

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and LinkedIn for professional networking

Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a polished approach to human interaction

Requirements:

Essential Requirements:

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

U.S. Citizenship or Green Card

Valid U.S. Driver’s License

Passport – international travel

Travel friendly

Excellent communication skills

Customer on-site experience

Advanced degree and practical experience in systems engineering

Strong working knowledge of CRM software

Proven proposal writing experience

Technical Proficiency: Strong English language proficiency in communicating technical and subject matter information

Preferred Qualifications:

Veterans and prior military service applicants appreciated

Quality Management Systems experience

Government relations experience

Second language skills (appreciated but not required)
